Serverless and the road to portability
This talk from core contributor of OpenFaaS and platform architect at Form3, Edward Wilde, explores the excitement around serverless technologies at the moment and its impact on the industry. You will learn the importance of portability and see the journey we took to get there. A large part of the serverless industry has moved to containers and Kubernetes. This has lead to what the OpenFaaS team is coining Server 2.0 – a truly portable experience built on battle-tested technology.
Edward will then take you through the current Serverless landscape, comparing three of the most popular frameworks that run on top of Kubernetes. He will explore two real-world use-cases before going on to demonstrate how Form3 uses serverless to power their release process in GitHub
